Boca Negra Beach Cleanup Highlights Vallarta’s Eco Commitment

Puerto Vallarta recently reaffirmed its commitment to environmental care with a cleanup at Boca Negra beach in Marina Vallarta. This successful event, the eighth such effort under Mayor Luis Munguía’s leadership, saw enthusiastic volunteers, city council members, and municipal workers collaborate to remove debris and safeguard the coastal environment.

Starting early in the morning, the energetic team, including Mayor Munguía and Councilor Christian Omar Bravo Carbajal, president of the Free, Clean, and Certified Beaches commission, worked diligently for over two hours.

Their efforts resulted in the collection of a significant amount of discarded plastic bags, Styrofoam cups, and straws. Councilor Bravo Carbajal emphasized the importance of community responsibility, urging everyone to protect the beaches by properly disposing of their trash and preventing it from polluting the ocean.

Joining the impactful initiative were councilors Víctor Bernal Vargas, Erika Yesenia Rubio, and Felipe Aréchiga, alongside numerous young volunteers and dedicated personnel from various City Hall departments. Demonstrating a proactive approach, Councilor Bravo Carbajal also highlighted ongoing cleanups in local streams and rivers, an important measure to mitigate the effects of the upcoming rainy season.

This latest cleanup underscores the Munguía administration’s dedication to a pristine Puerto Vallarta, reinforcing its commitment to clean and certified beaches for the benefit of both residents and visitors. The collaborative spirit and tangible results of these efforts offer a promising outlook for the future of Puerto Vallarta’s beautiful coastline.
