Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico – The Puerto Vallarta Chili Cook-Off is back for its 12th year, set to take place at Salón Rancho Alegre on Saturday, February 17th. This family-friendly event features free chili tasting from twenty local restaurants, Live Music by some of PV’s favorite bands, and lots of fun!
Doors will open at different times: 11:00 AM for Premium Ticket Holders, 11:30 AM for those with General Admission tickets, and Noon for those looking to purchase tickets on-site.
Returning to Salón Rancho Alegre after a successful event last year, attendees can expect a diverse lineup of entertainment. Mariachi Jalisco will kick off the event with a spirited performance, followed by music from bands like Chris Waters, Texas Embassy Blues Band, The Lost Dudes, and The Pleasant Uprising.
This year, twenty restaurants and individuals will be showcasing their best chili recipes, offering samples for attendees to enjoy. These Chili Chefs also compete for trophies in the “Popular” and “Professional” categories.
In addition to the Chili tasting, Murphy’s Irish Pub will feature an expanded Beer Garden with both domestic drafts and craft beer selections. For those craving mixed drinks, options will be available at the Nacho Daddy Station and the Americana Sports Bar pavilion, while wine enthusiasts can visit Ofelia’s Wine Bar.
If you’re still hungry after sampling all the chili, head over to the Food Court for additional food and beverage options. Throughout the day, raffle prizes provided by participating restaurants will be given away, adding to the excitement. Additionally, a 50/50 drawing will offer attendees a chance to win cash prizes.
This year introduces a new area called the VIP Zone: Atlantis, offering seating next to a swimming pool and bar with table service. Seats for this exclusive experience must be reserved online.
