Vallarta Generated 6.6 of the 12B Pesos Jalisco Received This Summer

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – The State of Jalisco received more than 12 billion pesos in revenue and approximately 5.7 million visitors during the 2022 summer vacation period, with an occupancy rate of 56% in the main destinations of the State such as: Guadalajara, Chapala, Puerto Vallarta and Costalegre, among others.

Of the 5.7 million visitors that Jalisco received, 8% were foreigners and 92% nationals, which means that around 455,000 people of different nationalities and 5.2 million people from different parts of Mexico visited us.

It is estimated that Guadalajara received approximately 3 million visitors and had an occupancy rate of 53%. The economic benefit for this destination was 5,219,000 pesos.

Jalisco’s premier beach destination, Puerto Vallarta, welcomed approximately 1 million visitors, with an average hotel occupancy rate of 72% and revenues of 6,629,000 pesos.

According to information from the Pacific Airport Group (GAP), more than 1,800,000 people were received in Jalisco this summer, of which 1.3 million passengers arrived in Guadalajara, (28% foreigners and 72% nationals), which represents a 4.3% increase over 2019. In August alone, Puerto Vallarta received almost half a million people, of which 46.5% were foreigners and 53.4% were nationals. This represents a growth of 38.2% over 2019.

And finally, the Puerto Vallarta National Port System Administration (ASIPONA) reported that it received 39,931 passengers on cruise ships during the summer period, which represents 21.8% more than in the same period of 2019.
