Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – Allianz Partners USA has announced the top destinations for Thanksgiving travel in 2024, and sunny beach escapes are once again high on the list. Based on over 750,000 travel itineraries, the company revealed where Americans are heading for their holiday getaways, with flights departing from U.S. airports between November 23 and 28 and returning between November 29 and December 3.
For the fourth consecutive year, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico ranks among the top three most popular international destinations. Visitors are drawn to its stunning scenery, pleasant weather, and rich culture, choosing Vallarta for its ideal mix of relaxation and adventure, alongside favorites like Cancun and Los Cabos.
While many are headed south for warm beaches, others are making their way across the Atlantic to iconic European cities. London ranks fourth, while Paris holds sixth place in the international rankings. Nassau in the Bahamas jumped two spots from last year to fifth place, while Montego Bay in Jamaica, though dropping three places, remains a favorite in eighth. Punta Cana (7) and Oranjestad (9), with their clear blue waters, continue to attract travelers seeking a tropical retreat. Mexico City makes a notable return to the list, reentering the top ten after a five-year break, finishing in tenth place.
“Holiday travel is back, and airports are gearing up for the busiest time of the year,” said Daniel Durazo, director of external communications at Allianz Partners. He emphasized the importance of planning ahead for potential travel disruptions, advising travelers to consider travel protection plans to safeguard against trip cancellations, delays, lost luggage, and medical emergencies.
As one of Mexico’s most beloved coastal destinations, Puerto Vallarta continues to shine as a top choice for Thanksgiving travelers, blending natural beauty and rich experiences for a holiday escape like no other.
