MiMi Bomba Finds a Hero at PV Technology Solutions

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – MiMi Bomba has discovered that life in Puerto Vallarta comes with many wonderful things, including sunshine, friends, good food and, occasionally, a little technological assistance. In her latest adventure, a malfunctioning laptop sends her on a short walk that leaves her grateful, amused and reminded that knowing the right person can make all the difference.

Whenever something goes wrong with my laptop or my cell phone, I simply blame gremlins. Deb Darling told me it’s not gremlins. “Oh, yes,” I said, “It’s gremlins. I know it’s gremlins!” I knew that wasn’t true, but I am so bad with technology that Gremlins made as much sense to me as anything else.

Yesterday my laptop kept shutting off for no reason and without permission… and with much frustration on my part. Also, I’m pretty sure I could hear the gremlins giggling gleefully while I was swearing.

After cussing out the gremlins for a while and continuing to do the same thing over and over to try to make my laptop behave itself – you know, like turning the computer off and turning the computer back on over and over – I finally packed it into my little briefcase and walked one short block to PV Technology Solutions – PV Tec – to see my friend, Julio, and beg him to exorcise the Duendecillos. (Yes, that is Spanish for gremlins. I look stuff up.)

I asked if I could wait while he fixed it so that I wouldn’t have to leave it for any length of time, and he told me he had four other computers to work on, but he would take a look at it while I was still there. Poke! One poke on one little button. Perfect! All fixed!

It looks like magic to me when these Millennials and Gen Zs know what to do. After all, I grew up with notepads, and yellow Number 2 pencils, and encyclopedias which my parents got monthly. Pretty sure I had graduated from high school before they received X-Z. I’ll never know what I missed out on besides xylophones and zebras…

So Julio is pretty much my god and most certainly my hero. One poke and the gremlins were defeated. And while I was there, Julio also cleaned my teclado, which appeared to have some remnants of cookies and/or potato chips firmly lodged among the keys – I don’t know how that happened, but it could have been hungry gremlins maybe?

To Julio it was just a couple of minutes of his time, and he refused to accept payment. I was on the way to the bank to get pesos, but I had none with me so I couldn’t tip him at the moment, so I will hop down there with a fat tip for him soon. To me, it was lifesaving, and I want to tell all of you about him. If you ever need help with your laptop or cell phone, you need to know where to go in PV!

Here is the contact information for Julio at PV Technology Solutions: Phone number is 322-113-0224. The address is 148 Pulpito, a couple of doors south of Olas Altas in Zona Romantica.

His hours are 10am to 4pm Monday through Saturday, and, yes, Julio will come to your house if you want him to because he is a great guy and my hero. I guarantee he will be your hero as well.

Adios, Duendecillos! Te amo muchisisimo, Julio!
