Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – Act2PV’s managing partner, Danny Mininni, has always dreamed of creating a Broadway musical revue and, after months of planning and rehearsing, his dream has finally come true. One of the most exciting musical revues ever produced by Act II, “The Best of Broadway,” is taking Puerto Vallarta by storm!
Directed by Danny Mininni and choreographed by Marc Lopez, this show is certain to “tickle your Broadway taste buds,” with its incredible dancing, creative set designs, gorgeous costumes and beautiful choral harmonies, duets, solos, and mini vignettes of favorite songs from A Chorus Line, Grease, Dream Girls, Funny Girl, Les Miserables, Wicked, Cats, Sound of Music and many other Broadway shows.
Featuring four amazing singer/dancers – Daniela Treviño, star of Legendary Ladies – Celine Dion; Faride Talamas, co-star of last year’s Twist & Shout; Marc Lopez, whose Crooners and Legends show recently debuted in The Red Room; and Víctor Do Espirito, former lead singer at Hard Rock Hotels in Riviera Maya and Puerto Vallarta – each song sparkles with pure Broadway brilliance!
It is a wondrous marvel to watch these four accomplished performers dancing around each other, swinging partners and sidestepping in unison, while singing well-known Broadway tunes such as “One” from A Chorus Line and “Defying Gravity” from the Broadway smash Wicked.
Dressed in 50’s gang-style black and white outfits, the four thrill audiences with a hot medley from Grease, that includes memorable songs such as “Grease [Is The Word]”, “Hopelessly Devoted To You”, “You’re The One That I Want”, “Summer Nights” and “Sandy”.
Daniela’s rendition of “And I’m Telling You I’m Not Going,” makes it clear why this is millions of people’s favorite song from Dream Girls. The Funny Girl segment is packed solid with wonderful oft-herd tunes, and “Don’t Rain On My Parade” was perfect for this show as it portrays the struggle of an artist shooting for stardom.
From Phantom of the Opera, the exquisite “All I Ask of You” is a stunning duet performed by Daniela and Marc, whose voices blend in leads and harmonies that send chills up your spine.
A rousing slice of Les Miserables includes French flag-waving for the revolution and the song “One Day More”. Jesus Christ Superstar is known for its title track, but Víctor’s incredible voice and memorable stage movements make “Why Should I Die” one of the show’s highlight presentations, that’s rivaled only by Daniela’s simply beautiful interpretation of “Memory” from the Broadway musical, Cats.
The Best of Broadway puts the spotlight on four of Act II’s rising stars. The high calibre of musical expertise, choreography and showmanship that each one brings to the stage leaves audiences spellbound. Following each of these artists to the top will be a pleasure.
