From the moment Rainere steps on the stage, you will be blown away by her uncanny resemblance to Donna Summer. She has the same style, grace, energy and voice, too! Donna’s distinctive sounds of funk, soul and pop are infused into Rainere’s performances, while her infectious personality captivates her fans as they dance along to the energy of the music.
On her decision to create a show honoring Donna Summer, Rainere explains, “It was a realization that I didn’t just SING Donna’s songs, I FELT them. They were embedded so deeply inside me that I knew I could honor her by recreating her presence for audiences who remember how great she and her contributions were to all of us!”
Rainere has performed in live theater, music videos, motion pictures, TV, and has been a popular entertainer on cruise ships and a variety of social and corporate events. But she experiences her greatest joy when seeing her enthusiastic, live audiences being transported back to the dance-oriented period of the ’70s! The glamorous and totally uninhibited Sherry Vine has established herself as one of the leading ladies of the drag world. Best known for her live singing and comedic NSFW show of parodies, she adheres to her rule of “The Three P’s: Poop, Penis and Prostitution” as she expertly skewers Lady Gaga, Madonna, Adele and more. NO ONE IS SAFE! Sherry was born in The Amish country. On her 16th birthday she discovered she was adopted and is actually Jewish. Running away from home, she became a “showgirl” in Las Vegas before relocating to NYC. She created her all-live singing and comedy and has since been performing internationally on stage, TV and film. She was honored in 2007 with the title of “HX Drag Queen of the Year,” was voted “Entertainer of the Year” by her peers, and was given the first “Glammy” Award.
“Although I do not believe in censorship, I have been accused by many of being a person of no class, morals or ethics. I [try to] avoid offending children, evangelicals and baby kitties. The story revolves around Sophie, a 20-year old bride, who is planning to get married in a little hotel on a Greek island where she has worked with her single mother, Donna, her whole life. Unbeknownst to Donna, Sophie has longed to find the father she has never known. After accidentally finding and reading her mother’s diary, she finds clues that point to three lovers from her mom’s “free-spirited” past that “might” be her father. Sophie secretly invites all three of these men to her wedding, and hilarity ensues!

Act2PV will be holding open auditions for actors, dancers and singers for an upcoming production of La Cage Aux Folles on Saturday, March 14 at 1:00 pm in the Act2PV Rehearsal Space, Calle Manuel M. Diéguez 333. Bring 1-2 music tracks on USB and come prepared to sing, dance, and read for a part.
Albin – the aging star of La Cage aux Folles, who performs as the drag queen “Zaza,” and is Georges’ husband
Georges – La Cage owner and master of ceremonies and Albin’s husband of over 20 years
Jean-Michel – Georges’ 24-year-old son from a brief heterosexual fling in Paris, raised by Albin and Georges as “mother” and father
Jacob – Albin and Georges’s butler, although he prefers to be called the maid, who dreams of performing in their show. He is close to Albin and often at odds with Georges.
Jacqueline – Albin and Georges’s stylish, imposing friend and the owner of Chez Jacqueline, a well-known elegant restaurant.
Anne Dindon – Jean-Michel’s fiancée
Edouard Dindon – Anne’s ultra-conservative father and the deputy general of the Tradition, Family, and Morality Party
Marie Dindon – Anne’s mother and Edouard’s wife
