ACT2PV Vallarta 2020-2021 Season

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – Since closing their doors in March to help stem the spread of COVID-19 in Puerto Vallarta, Act2PV has been working hard to not only get the venue ready for a safe re-opening, but also to develop a lineup of sensational shows for the 2020-2021 season of entertainment.

In his latest newsletter, ACT2PV Founder/Managing Partner, Danny Mininni, tells us what they have been doing to bring Puerto Vallarta another fabulous season of entertainment:

ACT2PV – Your Health • Friends & Family • Entertainment – In That Order

My entire life the best things have been given birth through horrible things happening. As bad as it’s been to be closed for 8 months the best things will come from it.

On the rooftop Star Light Cabaret, the tables will be spaced 6 feet apart, so while at the table you can remove your mask, but if you leave the table you must wear the mask.

The new Star Light Cabaret on our roof will be the most amazing addition to the Puerto Vallarta entertainment scene and, after COVID, will seat 250. This will allow us to bring in big names, host big charity events and do concerts under the sky. And, with the huge white wall we’re building behind the stage, we can have Movie nights and Karaoke, the sky’s the limit. The roof was something I saw the day I found the space. Covid has forced us to do it.

We gave up the lease downstairs where Wings Army and the Massage place were and now I’m so excited to tell you a Sushi place, Yamanada Sushi, will open where the massage place was and we will offer their menu at ACT2PV. Very Excited! I hope to soon be announcing the realization of another dream I have had from day one. (Hint, you know how I love to feed people.)

I am very proud to also tell you we have hired our own in-house R.N. trained nurse who will supervise our COVID response and protocols. I think we are the first private business on Puerto Vallarta to do this. She will give rapid test to staff, actors and performers daily, enforce all CDC protocols, and teach the staff how to work in this new normal.

We’ve also hired a full time cleaning person for business hours, who will supervise the cleaning of the space after shows let out. We will be enforcing the policies of temperature taking upon arrival, and masks will be mandatory. (If you are not willing to wear a mask please do not buy a ticket.)

In the Main Stage theater we will be seating at only 40% of capacity, so we asked our clients, “if you had to choose between a Plexiglas cubicle between you and the stage or an ACT2PV mask, which would it be?” Everyone said “mask”, so our hope is that we have created enough social distance to allow the mask to be removed once seated, but we have not decided yet.

We are also going to replace our AC filters with HEPA filters and we have purchased several ozone air cleaning systems that will clean the air and also sanitize all surfaces. Our priority is your safety and to make ACT2PV the safest place to be.

We are also building a ticket booth for the first floor in the courtyard to allow more social distancing and to make the ticket purchase as easy as possible. Worried about two flights of stairs? Don’t. We are remodeling the patio off of the bar for a great early cocktail rest stop with steps leading directly to the patio from outside. We have also doubled the size of the glass doors in the bar to ensure a nice flow of air.

Everyone at ACT2PV hopes to see you November 12 for opening night of our new season.

The truth is I never wanted to be an entertainment booker, we started out bringing in all of our acts from other countries, and yes, we will still bring your favorite acts back, but I’ll leave most of the bookings to others. I want to create.

I love to create and to collaborate to develop shows exclusively for the PV audience and for ACT2PV. This year, with Alfonso López, that dream has come true. Every single act opening in November and December has been created for our stage and all but a few have been created and produced by Alfonso and myself. With Alfonso as Director YOU CAN’T GO WRONG!

Trust me, we have made good use of our time since March 14th. The shows that have been created for this season are 100% based on what you all have told me that you wanted to see as you’ve left the venue for over the past 7 seasons. If we were not hit with this damn pandemic we would not have been able to dedicate so much time to it.

Everyone at ACT2PV is so excited to see you on November 12th for our opening night and the world premiere of “Reflections,” a tribute to the great ladies of music. Songs by The Supremes, The Andrew Sisters, The Pointer Sisters, The Dream Girls and just about every iconic lady group you could think of, make this one show that you won’t want to miss!

We are still trying to figure out the new ticket system with Brown Paper Ticket but they are very slow to approve listings. I hope by Monday we will be operational. We have already sold almost all of the 2020-2021 season tickets, I think we have 6 left. Contact Joss Olmos for more information.

We have no idea what will happen with COVID, but our promise to you is we will do absolutely everything possible to create a safe and enjoyable experience. I don’t think we could have had the energy to do this without the incredible support of you, our community. Your help this summer with the food bank has made it possible to survive and to feed our family. And, for the first time it does not look like we even need to hire new people, every single family/staff member is coming back.

Much love, be kind to each other,
Danny Mininni, Oscar Adrian Cisneros, Alfonso Lopez and the entire ACT2PV team
