Puerto Vallarta is taking significant steps to expand ecological and recreational spaces with the launch of the Agua Azul Park project. The creation of designated trails will promote responsible coexistence with nature, inviting residents and visitors alike to engage with the environment in a positive and meaningful way.
The project’s planning is being guided by Vincent O’Halloran Lepe, Manager of Territory and Sustainable City, who recently led a collaborative meeting with experts from various sectors. Participants included Dr. Alberto Reyes from the Jalisco Higher Technological Institute, Professor Óscar Morán from the Cultural Projects Office (Oficina de Proyectos Culturales or OPC), and Luis Salazar and Eduardo Tapia from the Banderas Bay Project, whose insights are helping shape the park’s design and functionality.
O’Halloran Lepe underscored the importance of collaboration – specifically, the partnership between government, the private sector, and civil society – as the essential ingredient for success. This shared commitment to a greener city emphasizes the critical role that citizen participation will play in making Agua Azul Park a successful destination that inspires people to care for and enjoy the natural beauty of Puerto Vallarta.
