Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – On Wednesday, November 13, the Alas de Águila (Eagle’s Wings) Foundation delivered its annual donation of approximately 4 million pesos to 36 civil associations across Puerto Vallarta and Bahía de Banderas.
The ceremony, held at Villa del Palmar Flamingos Hotel in Bucerías, gathered around 300 representatives from beneficiary organizations, united in their dedication to charitable causes.
The event included a traditional lunch followed by the presentation of checks to groups addressing a range of needs, from education and conservation to animal welfare and social services. Among the beneficiaries were Becas Vallarta A.C., Fundación Andrea 3.21, Ángeles en Libertad, Horizonte de Paz, Casa Hogar Máximo Cornejo, and both municipal DIF systems of Puerto Vallarta and Bahía de Banderas, and various animal welfare groups.
Eva Contreras de González, president of the foundation, expressed her pride in commemorating 25 years of impactful work. She credited the foundation’s success to its board, donors, and the generous support of timeshare tourists, primarily from the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
“These 25 years have been a journey of growth and awareness, helping us understand and address the needs of Puerto Vallarta and Bahía de Banderas,” said Contreras de González. She highlighted the foundation’s commitment to education and its collaboration with Villa Group, whose matching contributions from employees amplify the foundation’s impact.
The Eagles Wings Foundation was founded in 1999 by Jim McCarthy, a longtime Board of Directors member of Universal Vacation Club. The organization is dedicated to supporting charitable causes in the Puerto Vallarta area and beyond. By partnering with the Villa Group, the foundation is able to maximize the impact of every donation.
This year’s donation exemplifies the foundation’s enduring dedication to fostering a brighter future for communities in need.
