Amazon Mexico to Open New Shipping Warehouse in Nuevo León

Amazon Mexico to Open New Shipping Warehouse in Nuevo León

Apodaca, Nuevo León, Mexico – Amazon Mexico is expanding its presence in Nuevo León with a new shipping facility (MTY2) planned for the municipality of Apodaca. The center is expected to generate over 500 jobs.

This marks Amazon’s continued investment in the state, following the opening of their first Apodaca facility in 2020. The company has already invested 1.5 billion pesos and created 1,500 jobs in Nuevo León, establishing a network that includes warehouses, delivery stations, a recruitment center, and an AWS office.

MTY2 will not only serve Amazon’s core business but also offer support to small and medium-sized businesses (PyMEs) in Nuevo León, aiming to bolster their e-commerce operations.

Nuevo León is a strategic location for Amazon’s Mexico operations. The state boasts one of the highest concentrations of Amazon sellers per capita, alongside Mexico City, Chihuahua, Querétaro, and Jalisco.

Amazon’s commitment to Mexico is further evidenced by their recent investments. In September 2023, they opened Latin America’s largest delivery center (30,000 square meters) in Mexico City. Additionally, February 2024 saw a $5 billion pledge from Amazon Web Services (AWS) to develop a data center cluster in Querétaro.
