American Airlines and Air Canada Boost Winter Flights to Vallarta

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – Responding to increased interest from American and Canadian travelers, both American Airlines and Air Canada have announced expansions to their flight schedules for the upcoming 2025-2026 winter season. The airlines will boost frequencies from key North American cities to the popular Mexican beach destination.

American Airlines, already the largest foreign carrier in Mexico, will expand its service from Chicago O’Hare to Puerto Vallarta, offering two daily flights from December 18 to January 6. This move is part of the airline’s broader plan to boost winter travel to warm-weather destinations. Additionally, starting November 2, the airline will offer three daily flights to Cancún (CUN) and two to Los Cabos (SJD) from Chicago.

Ben Humphrey, American’s vice president of Chicago operations, commented on the expansion, stating that the airline is anticipating the demand for getaways from the Chicago winter and is more than doubling flights to well-liked vacation spots. This expansion will position American Airlines as the leading carrier from ORD to Mexico, providing greater accessibility to sought-after destinations for its customers. Tickets for these expanded Chicago services are currently available for purchase via the airline’s website and mobile application.

Air Canada, already serving Puerto Vallarta with seasonal flights from Vancouver, Toronto, and Montreal, will also increase its capacity for the 2025-2026 winter. The airline will add an additional flight to its Vancouver route, resulting in daily service and providing more travel options for customers on Canada’s west coast.

With more flights and greater connectivity, the upcoming winter season promises easier access to Puerto Vallarta’s beaches, culture, and sunshine for travelers escaping the cold.
