Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – Nestled amidst the lush forests of Puerto Vallarta, the Vallarta Botanical Garden is preparing to host a unique celebration of three treasures deeply woven into Mexico’s heritage: chocolate, vanilla, and coffee! Mark your calendars for January 13, 2024, as this tropical paradise transforms into a sensory feast, unveiling the rich history and vibrant flavors of these beloved ingredients.

Aromatic Origins: From Aztec Emperors to Everyday Luxury

Step into a time when cacao beans, known as “food of the gods” by the Aztecs, were more than just a sweet treat. Imagine Aztec emperor Moctezuma indulging in his daily cup of frothy chocolate, a blend far richer and spicier than today’s versions. The Vallarta Botanical Garden’s cacao trees whisper tales of this ancient legacy, where the humble bean fueled empires and sparked culinary innovations.

A Kiss of the Tropics: Where Myth and Vanilla Intertwine

Vanilla, with its intoxicating aroma and delicate sweetness, boasts an equally captivating backstory. Immerse yourself in the legend of Princess Xanat, whose forbidden love story birthed the vanilla orchid. As you explore the Garden’s vanilla plants, let the air carry whispers of this passionate tale, where myth and flavor intertwine.

Coffee’s Enchanting Ascent: From Ritual to Global Craze

And now, we introduce the newest member of this aromatic trio: coffee. Mexico, the birthplace of Altura coffee, boasts a long and storied relationship with this invigorating brew. Learn about its journey from sacred Mayan ritual to a global phenomenon, as you savor the distinct notes of Mexican coffee.
