Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – Act2PV, the lively entertainment hub in Puerto Vallarta, is known for showcasing the best musical talents in the region. One name that has become synonymous with Act2PV is Brenda Gaviño, a young and dynamic artist who has taken the music scene by storm.
Born and raised in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Brenda started singing at age 3 and quickly charmed the audience with her talent. Over the years, she has honed her skills, studying everything from classical opera to jazz and metal music. She has performed in numerous shows and concerts, including Act2PV’s The Best of Broadway, Supreme, and her own cabaret shows, Linda Ronstadt: In My Voice, Canciones de Mi Padre, This is Amy (Winehouse), and Opera Concert. Her performances have received rave reviews from audiences and critics alike.
But it wasn’t always smooth sailing for Brenda. She had to work hard to get where she is today. She enrolled in a performing arts school in Guadalajara when she was just 17 and later joined a Latin American metal band called “El Cuervo de Poe,” which toured all over Mexico and won many international music awards.
Brenda’s love for all types of music continued to grow, and she immersed herself in the music scene in her culturally-blessed city of Guadalajara, attending many concerts, musicals, operas, and recitals. She later moved to Puerto Vallarta, where she auditioned for Rhythms of the Night by Vallarta Adventures and was offered the role of main singer in the show.
In her never-ending quest to grow, Brenda later spent two years in Guadalajara, learning the art of jazz music. She took vocal jazz lessons, improvisation, music theory, and continued to take piano lessons.
Her talent and dedication have earned her many accolades. She won the first place of Mexico in the Karaoke World Championship competition last summer and placed 3rd in the world after representing Mexico at the International competition held in Oslo, Norway. She is also a member of the Las Mambas Girls Rock Band and will be touring with them in Canada this summer.
