Democrats Abroad Costa Banderas Launch Busy October

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – The Costa Banderas chapter of Democrats Abroad (DACB) is launching a packed schedule of community gatherings and voting assistance events this October. Aimed at helping U.S. citizens living in or visiting the Bay of Banderas area navigate the upcoming election, the local chapter is offering multiple ways for Americans to connect, get registered, and turn in their ballots.

The monthly activities kick off with the seasonal return of Coffee On The Beach on Tuesday, October 6, from 9:00 to 11:00 am. Held at Langostinos on the beach in Puerto Vallarta, the informal breakfast gathering offers local expats a chance to catch up over coffee.

Weekly Voting Assistance in Puerto Vallarta and Bucerías

With election deadlines approaching, DACB is placing a heavy focus on voter turnout. Trained voter assistants will man “Get Out the Vote” help desks every Wednesday throughout the month. Volunteers will assist Americans with registering to vote, requesting absentee ballots, and navigating specific state rules for returning completed ballots.

Help will be available at two locations across Jalisco and Nayarit:

Puerto Vallarta: October 7, 14, 21 & 28 from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm at Let’s Phò Restaurant (Lázaro Cárdenas 179, Zona Romántica, near Parque Lázaro Cárdenas).

Bucerías: Oct 14, 21 & 28 from 9 am to 1 pm at Restaurante Miguel Ángel (Plaza Bucerías).

Voters who need individual assistance or have specific questions can also request an appointment by emailing votefromabroad.cb(at)gmail.com.

“No Kings Day – Vote Early” Action on October 17

DACB will also join a nonpartisan nationwide effort on Saturday, October 17, in solidarity with the “No Kings Day – Vote Early” initiative promoted by Indivisible Abroad. Unlike past advocacy rallies, this day focuses directly on civic participation – ensuring every eligible overseas American has a clear voting plan and knows how to exercise their rights early.

To support the action, volunteers will staff an extra voter assistance center from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Let’s Phò Restaurant in Puerto Vallarta’s Zona Romántica.

General Membership Meeting and Evening Social

Later in the month, the chapter will host its General Membership Meeting on Thursday, October 22, starting at 4:00 pm upstairs at Nacho Daddy (Basilio Badillo 287, Puerto Vallarta). The business meeting will be followed by the chapter’s first Evening Social of the 2026–2027 season, giving members an opportunity to talk politics and network ahead of the crucial midterms.

As DACB organizers emphasize throughout their October outreach, an overseas vote only carries power when cast – and making a clear plan to submit ballots on time remains the top priority.

Paid for by the Costa Banderas Chapter of Democrats Abroad.
