DIF Puerto Vallarta ‘Gifts from the Heart’ Toy Drive

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico – ‘Tis the season of giving, and with Christmas just around the corner, the Puerto Vallarta System for Integral Family Development (DIF) could use your help in bringing a little happiness to disadvantaged children who are in need of some holiday cheer.

With the goal of bringing a small gift and a big smile to the faces of more than 10,000 underprivileged children throughout the municipality, the president of DIF Puerto Vallarta, María de Jesús López Delgado, invites everyone to “Donate a toy, a gift from the heart.”

This year’s Regalos de Corazón (Gifts from the Heart) toy drive is in conjunction with the Juguetón (Playful) campaign conducted by TV Azteca, who will help coordinate the delivery of gifts from both campaigns on Three Kings Day.

“We want our vulnerable children to have a reason to smile this holiday season. We encourage everyone to join the Toy Drive, because every toy that is donated will be a sign of community solidarity and the commitment we have for those who have less,” María de Jesús said.

The goal is to exceed the 10,000 toys that were collected last year, which would be distributed in different neighborhoods of the municipality identified as vulnerable on January 6, Three King’s Day. Those interested in making donations should note that all toys should be educational or recreational – not warlike – with no batteries required. Gently-used toys will be accepted, as long as they are in good condition.

The collection centers where you can drop off your donations are at the DIF Puerto Vallarta System facilities on Av. Paseo de las Palmas S/N in Colonia Barrio Santa María; SEAPAL Vallarta on Av. Francisco Villa S/N in Colonia Lázaro Cárdenas; Municipal Presidency of Puerto Vallarta, Calle Independencia #123 in Colonia Centro; La Capella Restaurant, Miramar #363B in Colonia Centro and at all Starbucks branches in Puerto Vallarta.

For more information on how you can help make this holiday a little brighter for local children, call (322) 225-9936, extension 161, Monday-Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
