Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – Jalisco remains calm and secure following the recent arrest of Audias Flores Silva, known as “El Jardinero,” in northern Nayarit. Officials confirmed that the enhanced presence will remain focused on border areas, with particular attention given to Puerto Vallarta.
Governor Pablo Lemus Navarro explained that the operation was launched as a precaution to prevent possible acts of violence after the arrest, which occurred outside of Jalisco. Authorities considered areas near the Nayarit border to have the highest potential risk, prompting additional monitoring and patrols.
The governor said the response involved close coordination with federal agencies, including the Secretaría de Seguridad y Protección Ciudadana, the Secretaría de Marina, the Secretaría de la Defensa Nacional, and the Guardia Nacional. Approximately 4,000 personnel from these agencies and state forces were deployed to strategic locations across the state to carry out surveillance and prevention efforts.
Despite concerns raised by events in neighboring Nayarit, authorities reported that no major incidents occurred within Jalisco. Officials confirmed that there were no road blockades, burned vehicles, or damage to businesses, particularly in Puerto Vallarta.
Governor Lemus Navarro also noted that he remained in direct communication with Omar García Harfuch throughout the operation, allowing federal and state agencies to coordinate resources and respond quickly if needed.
While the arrest took place outside of Jalisco, the governor emphasized that preventive action was taken to safeguard residents and visitors. He confirmed that enhanced surveillance will continue for at least 48 hours beginning Monday, April 27, with Puerto Vallarta identified as the location receiving the most extensive monitoring.
Public transportation services across Jalisco continued to operate normally during the operation. This stood in contrast to some areas of Nayarit, where temporary service suspensions were reported. Officials highlighted that cooperation among government agencies played a key role in maintaining order and stability.
On Tuesday morning, a helicopter operated by the Secretaría de Marina was observed conducting aerial patrols over Puerto Vallarta as part of the ongoing preventive security effort, reinforcing the visible presence of authorities across the region.
