Soccer is Back: Puerto Vallarta’s Youth League Returns

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – Soccer is making a strong comeback in Puerto Vallarta with the relaunch of the Municipal Children’s and Youth Soccer League, now kicking off a new era with the Demetrio Madero Tournament, named in honor of the former professional player.

The league aims to provide more than just competition, serving as a training ground for athletic talent and a school of life where discipline, teamwork, and respect are at the core. The league’s president, Javier Bravo Carbajal, spoke at a press conference about the project’s significance, highlighting how it goes beyond the playing field.

He explained that the league has a long history of shaping young people and instilling important values. Bravo Carbajal extended his gratitude to the Luis Munguía administration and COMUDE Puerto Vallarta, under the leadership of William Arredondo, whose support was crucial in bringing the league back to life.

This new tournament is a true community effort, with over 90 teams already registered across 12 different age categories, from Kindergarten to Senior Youth. The championship will span 14 weeks, with awards given to the top three teams. Notably, the league also features mixed teams, encouraging everyone to participate. The registration fee is a modest 300 pesos per team. Notably, the league also features mixed teams, encouraging everyone to participate. The registration fee is a modest 300 pesos per team.
