Free Puerto Vallarta Malecón Sculpture Walking Tours

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – The popular Puerto Vallarta Malecón Sculpture Walking Tours will soon return to cast their free and fascinating spell on locals and visitors alike. Join Galería Pacifico owner and local art expert Gary Thompson every Tuesday, starting January 9th, 2024, as he unveils the stories and secrets behind 16 iconic sculptures gracing the Malecón.

Meet at 9:30 am by the “Millennium” sculpture near Hotel Rosita, and prepare to have your eyes opened. Gary, a walking encyclopedia of Puerto Vallarta’s art scene, will delve into the artists, the history, and the hidden meanings embedded in each piece. His personal anecdotes and insider knowledge make the tour a delightful blend of information and entertainment.

No need to book – just show up with an open mind and a comfortable pair of shoes. The two-hour stroll ends around noon, leaving you with a deeper appreciation for the art and the city itself.

And here’s the best part: it’s FREE! Though donations to Biblioteca Los Mangos, the city’s underfunded public library, are warmly welcomed. “Giving back is important. As a non-profit organization, Los Mangos receives next to no support from the local government,” says Gary, a resident for over half his life. “These tours are my way of supporting the library while sharing the magic of Puerto Vallarta’s art with everyone.”

Ready to discover the Malecón’s artistic treasures? Let the art walk ignite your curiosity and leave you with a lasting love for Vallarta’s vibrant artistic soul. With Gary as your guide, you’ll discover that art is more than just what you see – it’s a journey into the heart of a city and its people.
