Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – Puerto Vallarta’s International Friendship Club (IFC) Home Tours have earned Tripadvisor’s 2026 Travelers’ Choice Award, placing them among the top 10% of sightseeing tours worldwide for the second consecutive year.
Since 1986, the tours have invited visitors inside some of Puerto Vallarta’s most interesting private residences while raising funds for charitable programs throughout the community.
Each Tuesday morning from November through March, guests visit three or four homes, ranging from smaller traditional-style casas to expansive beachfront condominiums and villas valued at millions of dollars.
The participating homeowners generously open their doors, helping the IFC turn a morning of sightseeing into a fundraiser for local causes.
The Home Tours program was originally established to help provide free cleft palate and cleft lip surgeries for children. Today, proceeds also support local orphanages, educational initiatives, families with children facing cancer and other charitable projects.
The approximately three-hour experience includes round-trip transportation on air-conditioned buses and knowledgeable guides who share information about the featured homes, their architecture and design.
IFC President Peggy Nelson said the award reflects the efforts of the homeowners, volunteers and thousands of guests who have supported the tours over the years.
“This recognition belongs to the wonderful homeowners who open their doors, our dedicated volunteers, and of course, the thousands of guests who have joined us and shared their experiences,” Nelson said. “Thank you for helping make IFC Home Tours such a special part of Puerto Vallarta – while supporting our Cleft Palate Program and important charitable grants awarded by IFC throughout our community.”
The 2026–2027 Home Tours season begins Tuesday, November 17, with Tuesday tours continuing through March 23, 2027. Wednesday tours will also be offered from January 6 through March 24, providing additional opportunities to join the tours.
