Jalisco Sees Success at FITUR, Eyes Vallarta-Madrid Flights

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – Jalisco’s Secretary of Tourism, Vanessa Pérez Lamas, returned from the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) in Madrid with positive news. At the event, Jalisco partnered with businesses to invest $8 million in promotional efforts, generating approximately $400 million in revenue, a 50-fold return on investment.

Pérez Lamas highlighted the strong interest in Jalisco’s tourism offerings and reiterated the importance of a direct flight from Madrid to Puerto Vallarta. While acknowledging the success of the existing direct connection to Guadalajara, she emphasized the need for a similar connection to Puerto Vallarta to facilitate tourist flow.

Data shows the current Guadalajara-Madrid flight enjoys an impressive 85% average occupancy, indicating consistent travel in both directions. Pérez Lamas expressed commitment to further improving air connectivity and promoting tourism in Jalisco, adding, “We will not take our finger off the line to have a flight with Puerto Vallarta.”

With optimistic occupancy figures marking the beginning of the year, Pérez Lamas reiterated the commitment to enhancing air connectivity and bolstering tourism in Jalisco. She affirmed ongoing efforts to secure a direct flight from Madrid to Puerto Vallarta, expressing confidence in the trajectory of tourism development in the region.
