Puerto Vallarta audiences will soon have the chance to experience one of the world’s most celebrated ballets when the prestigious Kiev Ballet brings Swan Lake to the Teatro Vallarta Cultural Center on May 6, 2026. The company will present two performances, at 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm, offering residents and visitors the opportunity to enjoy this timeless masterpiece.
Following the strong reception of its previous tours, the Kiev Ballet returns to Mexico to reconnect with audiences and share the enduring beauty of classical dance. The company’s recent tours from 2022 through 2025 drew more than 325,000 attendees across Spain and Mexico City, earning widespread praise for artistic excellence and production quality. In 2026, the company continues its international tour, appearing on respected stages around the world.
Swan Lake, set to the unforgettable music of Pyotr Tchaikovsky, features a libretto by Vladimir Beghitchev and Vasili Geletzer, with choreography originally created by Marius Petipa. The ballet remains one of the most recognized works in dance history, admired for its graceful movement, dramatic storytelling, and emotional depth.
The story follows Prince Siegfried and Princess Odette, who has been transformed into a swan by the sorcerer Rothbart. Through romantic and dramatic scenes, the ballet explores themes of love, loyalty, and courage.
