La Lija to Host Free World Cup Watch Parties

Puerto Vallarta is making sure the excitement of the 2026 FIFA World Cup reaches every corner of the city. Through the Corona Caravan, residents will be able to enjoy free public match broadcasts in neighborhood gathering spaces, bringing the world’s biggest football tournament closer to home.

One of the featured locations will be the La Lija Cultural and Sports Complex in El Coapinole, where families, friends, and football fans can come together to watch the matches on giant screens in a festive community setting.

La Lija will host two special World Cup viewing events. The first takes place on Saturday, July 18, beginning at 3:00 pm, followed by a second gathering on Sunday, July 19, starting at 1:00 pm. In addition to the live match broadcasts, visitors can enjoy live music and soccer-themed entertainment, creating an exciting atmosphere for fans of all ages.

The Corona Caravan is part of the national campaign, El Extra de México es Mundial, which is bringing public viewing experiences to more than 62 municipalities across Mexico. The initiative includes more than 400 broadcasts covering all 104 matches of the FIFA World Cup, allowing communities throughout the country to celebrate the tournament together.

The program is designed to make the World Cup accessible to residents who may not be able to attend official Fan Zones or activities, like the ones in Puerto Vallarta’s tourist zone. Instead, neighborhoods like El Coapinole, El Pitillal, and surrounding communities can enjoy the excitement close to home in a welcoming and family-friendly environment.

By expanding World Cup festivities beyond the city’s waterfront, Puerto Vallarta is creating additional opportunities for residents to share in one of the world’s most celebrated sporting events. Whether gathering at the seaside Fan Zone or cheering alongside neighbors at La Lija, football fans throughout the municipality will have a place to celebrate the excitement of the games together.
