Local Singer Losanna Díaz Wins Karaoke World Championship

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – Puerto Vallarta performer Losanna Díaz has earned international recognition, taking first place in the Duets category at the 2026 Karaoke World Championships in Las Vegas. Partnering with fellow Mexican singer Demian Márquez, Díaz helped bring the championship title home to Mexico.

The 24th annual Karaoke World Championship (KWC) World Finals took place October 25 and 29 at the Veil Pavilion inside Silverton Casino Lodge in Las Vegas, bringing together talented amateur singers from more than 30 countries across six continents. Competitors faced off in Solo and Duet categories, with performers showcasing their vocal abilities on an international stage.

Founded in Finland in 2003, the Karaoke World Championships has grown into the world’s largest amateur singing competition. Over the years, it has provided aspiring vocalists with an opportunity to represent their countries, share their passion for music, and compete for one of the most coveted titles in amateur singing.

Representing Mexico, Losanna Díaz and Demian Márquez delivered a series of memorable performances throughout the competition. Their championship – winning run concluded with Alicia Keys’ If I Ain’t Got You, while an earlier performance of Juan Gabriel’s Ya lo sé que tú te vas demonstrated their versatility and connection to Mexican music.

For Díaz, the international victory adds another achievement to an already impressive performing career. Originally from Santa Anita, Jalisco, she is a singer, actress, and stage performer whose work spans musical theater, tribute productions, and live entertainment. She first gained national recognition in 2021 as a contestant on La Voz México.

Since then, Díaz has become a familiar face on Puerto Vallarta’s entertainment scene, performing throughout the city and at venues across Mexico. Her tribute productions celebrating the music of Jennifer Lopez, Selena Quintanilla, and Christina Aguilera have earned her a loyal following at The Palm Cabaret, Coco Cabaret, and other local stages.

Her duet partner, Demian Márquez, is a versatile performer born in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, on June 16, 1989. His professional career began taking shape in 2011, when he was invited to participate in two musical theater productions. The experience marked the beginning of his formal training in dance and acting, and that same year he secured his first professional singing engagement. He currently performs as a lead vocalist in Carnal Dinner & Show at Hotel Grand Sirenis in Akumal, Quintana Roo.

Their first-place finish is a proud accomplishment for both performers and a significant moment for Mexico at an international competition that celebrates singing talent from around the world.

Those who want to experience Losanna Díaz’s remarkable voice won’t have to travel to Las Vegas. She is bringing her talent to La Catrina Cantina in the Puerto Vallarta Romantic Zone, where she will perform every Friday beginning November 13 at 9:00 pm. Admission is free, giving local residents and visitors another opportunity to enjoy one of the city’s accomplished performers.
