Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – Creativity flourished in the heart of Puerto Vallarta as the XVII Madonnari Festival 2025 transformed the Plaza de Armas into an open-air art gallery. With 140 participants, including both adults and children, this year’s festival set a new record for attendance, captivating both locals and visitors with stunning chalk masterpieces.

Organized by the Santa Bárbara Sister Cities Committee in collaboration with the administration of Mayor Luis Munguía, the festival was a resounding success. The event showcased the immense talent of artists who brought the streets to life with vibrant colors and intricate designs.

During the closing ceremony, Councilwoman Laurel Carrillo Ventura, president of the City Council Committee on Culture and Cultural Rights, praised the festival as a testament to the city’s commitment to fostering artistic expression. She emphasized the importance of supporting local talent and preserving cultural traditions through events like this.

One of the standout winners was Atahin Romero, whose artwork “Corazón Huichol” earned him a well-deserved prize of 10,000 pesos.

In the children’s category, four-year-old Sergio Daniel Díaz Solís amazed the jury with his impressive creation, proving that artistic passion knows no age limits.

The festival’s success was further supported by the Directorate of Economic Promotion and Tourism and the Vallarta Institute of Culture. Their contributions helped ensure that this beloved tradition continues to inspire and bring people together through art.

With its growing popularity and enthusiastic participation, the Madonnari Festival remains a cherished celebration of creativity, community, and culture. This year’s festival served as a powerful reminder of the rich artistic spirit thriving in Puerto Vallarta.
