Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – Erica Maree, a local designer of handmade clothing and accessories, is thrilled to announce the opening of their newest addition: Ono’s Smoothie Bowls. Located right in the heart of Puerto Vallarta’s Zona Romantica on Calle Basilio Badillo, this walk-up breakfast cafe will open its doors on Friday, October 25th, ready to feed the first hungry customers at 8:00 am.
Founders Erica and Leah Black, a mother and daughter duo, have family roots on the island of Guam in the South Pacific. They chose the name Ono because it means “delicious” in islander slang. Erica and Leah are committed to ensuring their breakfast food lives up to the name, using only high quality, healthful ingredients.
Ono’s bowls are 100% vegan, and packed with superfoods such as spirulina, bee pollen, hemp seeds and cacao nibs. The “I Love You So Matcha” bowl has a base of Japanese matcha and is topped with vibrant fruits such as kiwi, apple slices and blueberries. Breakfast connoisseurs can enjoy the colors and flavors of the “Sunny Bowl” while reaping the benefits of the antioxidant-packed acai berry.
Fresh, local fruits are incorporated into all of the smoothie bowls. Diners can sample combinations such as strawberry, mango and chia or banana, pineapple and mango, among others. For those eager to try less familiar tropical fruits, the “Pink Sky Delight” bowl contains the gorgeous pitaya fruit mixed with berries and a creamy coconut-banana base.
Clients with an extra-healthy appetite can order healthy bites like Sunrise Cakes, or creamy avocado toast. Cream cheese toast is also on the menu, spread liberally with homemade cream cheese. Ono’s gluten-free and dairy-free breads are locally made and baked fresh daily. Of course, no breakfast beach shack would be complete without a full coffee menu, and Ono’s Smoothie Bowls is no exception. Espresso is served, along with lattes, cappuccinos and mochas. Tea and kombucha are also on the menu.
Located at Basilio Badillo #314C on the south side of Puerto Vallarta, Ono’s is the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing breakfast while people-watching over an extra cup of coffee. Afterwards, a day at the beach and a shopping trip to Erica Maree’s clothing and accessories store are just a few steps away.
