Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico – The Puerto Vallarta International Airport is flying high, setting the stage for a historic close to 2025. With robust passenger numbers in November, the terminal is firmly on track to achieve a new annual record, showcasing the resort city’s enduring appeal.
Last month proved to be an excellent period for air travel in Puerto Vallarta. The airport successfully managed 618,900 passengers, a notable increase compared to 592,000 recorded in November of the previous year. This performance reflects the anticipated momentum of the region’s high season.
Domestic Market Leads the Way
The domestic travel market provided a significant engine for growth. In November, 257,000 passengers arrived on domestic flights, marking an impressive 7.0% increase over the 240,200 travelers from November 2024. Looking at the year so far, domestic traffic has shown powerful expansion, reaching a total of 2,855,400 passengers through the first eleven months. This figure is 10.1% higher than the 2,593,400 recorded during the same period last year.
International Traffic Regains Momentum
Following a period of comparative moderation, the international market has finally registered growth again. The airport welcomed 361,900 international passengers in November, a solid increase of 2.9% over the 351,800 recorded last November. This upward trend in international arrivals is key as the airport drives toward its year-end goals.
New Annual Record Within Reach
With the end of the year approaching, Puerto Vallarta International Airport is poised for an unprecedented achievement. The airport has already served a total of 6,234,900 passengers in the first eleven months of 2025, which is 1.9% more than the 6,118,000 seen in the same period of 2024.
Given that December is historically a very productive month for the airport, current projections indicate that the terminal will surpass its 2024 total of 6.8 million passengers, likely reaching at least 6.9 million by the time the year concludes. This successful performance underscores the airport’s ability to handle increasing demand and the Banderas Bay area’s continued success as a top travel destination.
