According to preliminary reports from the Hotel and Motel Association, the destination achieved an impressive 97% occupancy on key holiday dates, showcasing its appeal as a prime vacation spot.

The success can be attributed to effective collaborative efforts in promoting the destination, including a series of captivating events held throughout the final month.

Data from the federal Ministry of Tourism’s Datatur system indicates a strong average occupancy of 76.1% for the week of December 2-8, followed by a slight dip to 73.9% the subsequent week. However, occupancy rebounded to 76.1% during the week of December 16-22.

As the holiday season peaked, Puerto Vallarta’s hotels welcomed guests in record numbers. Even as the new year began, occupancy remained strong, with January 2 seeing rates of 85-90%. Hoteliers are optimistic about maintaining this momentum into 2025.

The city’s tourist hotspots, including the beaches, Malecón, and Marina Vallarta, are still bustling with activity. Visitors are arriving by air, road, and sea, with the international cruise sector in full swing, bringing thousands of passengers weekly.
