Vallarta Fire Dept Strengthened with New Emergency Gear

Puerto Vallarta’s Civil Protection and Fire Department has received a major boost in its emergency response capabilities following the official delivery of new vehicles and rescue equipment. The delivery, which took place at the La Lija sports complex on Monday, included three fire trucks, a water truck, three jet skis, and specialized tools for extraction, oxygenation, and ventilation.

This effort was made possible through a combination of municipal investment and international support. A large portion of the equipment was donated by International Fire Operation 5280, a firefighting support organization based in Boulder and Denver, Colorado. The donation was organized with the help of Manuel García and marks the second shipment of emergency equipment from the U.S. to Puerto Vallarta this year.

Mayor Luis Munguía emphasized that the delivery is part of a broader strategy to improve public safety across the municipality. This includes the rehabilitation of the fire department base in Joyas del Pedregal and the purchase of more vehicles. “We are investing in life-saving equipment because the safety of Vallarta’s residents is a priority,” he stated. “This is a clear example of collaboration between governments and civil organizations.”

Director of Civil Protection and Firefighters, Jorge Misael López Muro, confirmed the estimated value of the new equipment is about three million pesos. He explained that these resources are especially important during hurricane season, when emergency response needs often increase.

In addition to the vehicles and tools, SEAPAL Vallarta contributed a water truck to support firefighting operations. The new equipment will not only enhance local rescue efforts but also support lifeguards and disaster response teams in coastal and inland emergencies.

State Civil Protection Commander Sergio Ramírez López praised the city’s efforts and confirmed that the regional base will receive additional personnel and resources. He noted that Puerto Vallarta is becoming a model for effective coordination and international cooperation in emergency management.

With this new support, Puerto Vallarta’s emergency teams are now better prepared to respond quickly and efficiently, reinforcing their role in protecting the lives and safety of residents and visitors alike.
