Puerto Vallarta is making history as the first municipality in Jalisco to provide dedicated support for children with congenital heart disease. Under the leadership of Mayor Luis Munguía, the local government has allocated one million pesos to the “Unidos de Corazón” (United by Heart) campaign, ensuring access to life-saving medical treatment.
The funds will go to “Ayuda al Corazón de Niño A.C.,” a non-profit organization with over 20 years of experience helping children with heart conditions. With this financial support, 10 children from Puerto Vallarta who have been waiting for critical treatment will now receive specialized medical care.
This initiative is part of the first “Unidos de Corazón” campaign, scheduled from April 3 to 10, 2025. Organized by the “Alianza Unidos de Corazón” in collaboration with Hospiten Vallarta, the project aims to reduce infant mortality caused by congenital heart disease while strengthening the city’s healthcare infrastructure.
The impact of this effort extends beyond Puerto Vallarta. “Ayuda al Corazón de Niño” has already made a difference in Baja California Sur and Quintana Roo, and now, with the municipality’s support, children in Vallarta will benefit as well. This commitment marks a significant step toward ensuring that every child has the opportunity for a healthier future.
