Puerto Vallarta Nominated for 3 Travvy Awards

Puerto Vallarta has received three nominations in the seventh edition of the Travvy Awards, which aim to recognize the highest quality standards in the tourism industry at the international level.

Puerto Vallarta has been nominated for three 2021 Travvy Awards, also known as the “Academy Awards” of the travel industry, which recognize the best in tourism worldwide.

The Travvy Awards honor the industry’s top suppliers, destinations, attractions, and airlines, among others, as chosen by those who know them best: travel agents.

Travel industry experts nominated Puerto Vallarta to compete in the following categories:

• Best Culinary Destination in Mexico
• Best Honeymoon Destination in Mexico
• Best Tourism Board in Mexico

Puerto Vallarta has established itself as one of the world’s most recognized tourist destinations. It received several Travvy Awards in 2017, including “Best Culinary Destination in Mexico”, “Best Destination City in Mexico” and “Best LGBT Destination” on a worldwide level.

Apple Vacations named the city the “Best Destination” in 2019. Puerto Vallarta was ranked at #5 in the ‘Top 10 Small Cities in the World’ category of Condé Nast Traveler magazine’s 2019 by Readers Choice Awards; and FishingBooker, the largest fishing expeditions platform, ranked it at #2 out of seven destinations that specialize in this sport.

Also, the Association of Professional Tennis Players (ATP) voted the Puerto Vallarta Open the “Best Challenger Tournament” of 2019, while Global Traveler USA designated PV the “Best Leisure Destination 2020.”

Among the LGBTQ + community’s accolades include Gay Cities magazine’s “Fun in the Sun” award in 2018 and inclusion in the list of the “Best Gay Beaches in the World 2020” for Playa Los Muertos, one of the destination’s most iconic beaches.

The Vallarta Botanical Garden has also achieved great international recognition, placing itself on the list of the “The 10 Best Gardens in North America Worthy of Being Visited 2019” by the Canadian Garden Council and in 2021 it ranked fourth in the “Top 10 Botanical Gardens in North America” contest, according to the USA Today poll.

The 2021 Travvy Awards, now in their 7th year, have quickly earned their reputation as the Academy Awards of the travel industry. Travel suppliers, destinations and individuals from all over the world are eligible to vote for the nominees in the travel companies, products, agencies, and destinations categories.

Voting is now open on the Travvy Awards website and the winners will be announced at a lavish awards event on November 10 at the Miami Convention Center.
