Puerto Vallarta Ready for the Busy Easter Vacation Period

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – With Holy Week here, and Easter fast approaching, the Directorate of Tourism and Economic Development in Puerto Vallarta is prepared for an increase in tourism.

Director Christian Preciado Cázares expects high occupancy rates, ranging from 90% to 95%, throughout the holiday period. He attributes this rise in tourism to Puerto Vallarta’s reputation for safety, hospitality, and excellent cuisine. Preciado Cázares anticipates full hotel capacity by Thursday, with additional visitors utilizing vacation rental platforms, private residences, and staying with relatives. This influx is expected to generate a significant economic boost for the city.

Hotel occupancy is particularly strong in the adults-only segment, with limited availability remaining within the city’s 25,500 hotel rooms. Notably, some foreign visitors, particularly from Canada and the United States, are extending their stays for up to 50 nights to escape harsh weather conditions in their home countries.

To enhance the visitor experience, Puerto Vallarta has scheduled various events during the holiday period, including a Taco Festival on March 31st and a BBQ competition with mixed martial arts entertainment on April 6th, both to be held at Parque Hidalgo.

For visitor assistance, tourist information offices will be open daily throughout the holiday period. Two of these offices, one located in the Downtown area and the other at Lázaro Cárdenas Park, will provide tourist assistance and legal advice. Booths at Hidalgo Park, Playa de Oro, Playa Palmares, La Isla shopping center and two locations on the Malecón, will provide information and address any complaints tourists may have.
