Puerto Vallarta Sees Five Cruise Ship Arrivals in September

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – September marks the end of the low season for international cruises in Puerto Vallarta, with five ship arrivals scheduled, according to the National Port System Administration (ASIPONA).

Four of these visits will be by Carnival Cruise Line’s Carnival Firenze, which recently replaced the Carnival Panorama as our port’s weekly visitor. The Firenze, which recently underwent a two-month refurbishment to include popular features from Carnival while preserving its Italian heritage, first arrived on Tuesday, September 3, and will return on the mornings of September 10, 17, and 24.

Although similar in size, the Firenze has a slightly smaller capacity than the Panorama. The Panorama measures 322 meters in length, weighs 133,500 tons, and can carry over 4,700 passengers, operating with more crew members. In comparison, the Firenze is 323.5 meters long, weighs 135,156 tons, and can accommodate 4,126 passengers.

The only other confirmed arrival this month is the Celebrity Summit, scheduled for Sunday, September 22. ASIPONA also mentioned the potential arrival of the Vidanta Elegance, which may dock at the Puerto Vallarta maritime terminal for a couple of days in mid-September, though this is pending confirmation.

Despite seasonal variations in cruise traffic, Puerto Vallarta remains a welcoming destination, ready to offer visitors unforgettable experiences of adventure, relaxation, and the warmth of Mexican hospitality. The high season for cruise tourism is expected to begin in October, with an increase in ship arrivals and the Carnival Panorama resuming its weekly visits in December.
