Puerto Vallarta Wins Gold for LGBTQ+ Travel and Marketing

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – Puerto Vallarta continues to solidify its position as a premier global destination, recently earning two prestigious gold medals at the 16th annual Magellan Awards by Northstar. Recognized as the Best LGBTQ+ Destination and for the Best Marketing Campaign: Promotional Video, the city continues to shine as a global favorite.

The Puerto Vallarta Pacific & Wild campaign, created in collaboration with Beautiful Destinations, claimed gold for its striking promotional video. This campaign has reached over 5 million people worldwide, engaging more than 100,000 users on social media and showcasing the city’s breathtaking landscapes and inviting atmosphere.

Puerto Vallarta also secured the gold for “Best LGBTQ+ Destination,” recognizing the alluring Romantic Zone. This iconic neighborhood, home to Playa Los Muertos and more than 75 gay-owned or gay-friendly establishments, including hotels, restaurants, theaters, and boutiques, has established itself as a top global destination for LGBTQ+ travelers.

Luis Antonio Villaseñor Nolasco of Fidetur Puerto Vallarta expressed pride in these achievements, stating, “Puerto Vallarta reaffirms its leadership and positioning in the North American market with these recognitions as the ‘coolest’ neighborhood for LGBTQ+ travelers and the current communication and promotion strategy of the destination.”

Among the numerous destinations worldwide vying for recognition from the 19 travel industry experts who judged the competition, Puerto Vallarta stood alone as the sole Mexican recipient of a Magellan Award. This accolade underscores the destination’s commitment to excellence and its ability to captivate international travelers from all walks of life.
