Between November 8 and 10, the city will be bustling with cultural celebrations, culinary experiences, sporting competitions, and family-friendly activities.

One of the highlights is the monolithic 28.5 meter (93′ 6″) Catrina on the Puerto Vallarta boardwalk, which will remain on display until mid-November. This year’s Catrina comes with a charming, pet-friendly twist, a Xoloitzcuintle dog, measuring 8 meters (26′ 2″) in length and 7 meters (23′) in height, honoring the beloved animals that accompany us in life. Alongside this towering figure, visitors can admire large decorative panes de muerto as part of the artistic tribute.

The 29th International Gourmet Festival kicks off November 7, inviting food lovers to explore ten days of culinary excellence. Hosted in the city’s top hotels and restaurants, this event brings together 70 of the world’s most celebrated chefs, who are ready to share their culinary prowess and unique creations with festivalgoers.

For barbecue lovers, the Vallarta Grill Festival’s fall edition on November 10 promises a lively day of smoky flavors and fierce competition at the Puerto Vallarta International Convention Center. Runners will take on challenging paths through the Sierra Madre and tropical forest, finishing near the Pacific Ocean’s scenic coastline. Meanwhile, the Vallarta Cup, a youth soccer tournament now in its 44th year, will be held across multiple fields from November 6 to 10, with 300 games showcasing young talent from 12 Mexican states and beyond.

Fishing enthusiasts won’t want to miss the XVII Los Muertos Beach Fishing Tournament on November 9, where the top prize reaches $300,000 pesos. Taking place at the famous Playa Los Muertos pier, this annual competition invites sport fishers to try their luck on the waves.

On the same day, Kukur Tihar Puerto Vallarta 2024, inspired by the Nepalese tradition, will honor dogs for their loyalty, companionship, and love. The Puerto de Luna hotel’s gardens will be open to pet owners and their furry friends from from 3 to 9 pm for an afternoon of community connection, with free admission.

For those looking to embrace inclusivity, the Rainbow Race returns on November 10 with 2K and 5K routes for runners, joggers, and walkers. Open to adults of all genders, this fun run is a joyful way to support diversity in Puerto Vallarta.
