Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – The latest news from PuRR Project, a non-profit, no-kill feline shelter just north of Puerto Vallarta that provides homeless cats and kittens a recuperative stay with the ultimate goal of adopting them out to loving homes sterilized, vaccinated and disease free.
UPCOMING EVENTS
We plan to be back at our regular table outside Daiquiri Dick’s starting Saturday, November 7. We’ll have all the logo items plus the 2027 PuRR calendar! The first Kitty BINGO is scheduled for Wednesday, November 11 at Nacho Daddy. And our annual Fall Garage Sale will probably be on Saturday, December 5. We’ll be collecting donations soon so keep us in mind if your have “stuff” that needs a new home! You can contact us at donate@purrproject.com to make arrangements
SHELTER NEWS
Category 5 hurricane Polo passed by on September 27 bringing intense rain to the Bay. It caused major flooding at the shelter and flooded the ranch house for the first time ever! Fortunately, all humans and cats were safe and between Jose’s family and volunteers the cleanup was done the next day. We are still inundated with kittens and all casitas are FULL. We desperately need donations to continue to provide kitten food, litter, tests, vaccines and vet care for so many. If you have a few dollars to spare you can get the details HERE.

ADOPTIONS
Adoptions were slow again in September with only five at PetCo, but thankfully seven through a foster and a volunteer. Remember, we bring our favorite kitties to the PetCo Adoption Center every weekend so please spread the word to friends or family looking for a new furry companion. We love it when two get adopted together like Viking & Willis!
PURR PROJECT 2027 CALENDAR
Our 2027 Calendar is here! They make such a great gift for your cat-loving friends and family as well as yourself!! You will be able to get yours at our Saturday booth at Daiquiri Dick’s starting in November. If you would like to have one mailed to you in the USA, contact Bama at info(at)purrproject.com for instructions and your mailing address. They are $25 USD each, including postage. You can pay by sending a check to our Delaware address or by using the PayPal button on our website.

VIRTUAL ADOPTIONS
One great way to support us is to “Virtually Adopt” a cat for yourself or as a gift to a feline-loving friend for only $120 a year! It will help us continue to give these adult cats a safe home and medical care for life… like Bob Marley, an 8-year old orange tabby who has a neurological condition and currently lives in the Senior Center. He greets volunteers & visitors eagerly and loves to show affection. You can learn how to virtually adopt and also meet all the candidates on our website.
GRACIAS! THANKS! MERCI! DANKE! ARIGATO!
We were very grateful to receive very generous donations in September from Cherri Gilmore and Nina & Nosh Vellani! It’s been a tough summer and we really need donations now. If you would like to make a donation by PayPal or check, you can get all the information on our website.
As always, we are grateful for those monthly donors who are so essential to our success: The McCullough Family Gift Fund, Gary Phillips, Sharon & Ken Rose, Terri & Gray Levy, Joanne Bryla, Trisha Aljoe, Pat & Sandy Glenn, Catherine Goglia & Jim Shoemaker, Karen and Walt Trolson, Robert Weed, Jerry Petrizzo, Heidi Benedict, Timothy Oleno, Larry Sherwood, Mary and Bob Fitzgerald, David Flannery, Elizabeth Fuerherm, Janice North, Katie Hannasch, Gayle Sommers and Scott Hagler.
