PV’s Cuale Clinic Continues to Make Positive Changes

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – Over the past couple of years, Cuale Clinic volunteers had been trying to juggle appointments with requests for the sterilizations of street animals. That’s when they got up to 137 animals in one day. It all got a bit hard because it’s too difficult to say no to the rescuers. In talking with some of them, they said Cuale Clinic was the only clinic in the area that allowed them to bring more than 2 or 3 animals at a time.

These rescuers work in neighborhoods where they can easily collect 10 to 15 (and more) at a time. So, a decision was made to change the clinic from appointments for pets and a few street animals to street and shelter animals only. The organizers strongly feel that is the root of Vallarta’s animal overpopulation problem in Vallarta.

It’s not been an easy transition for the clinic as the rescuers are never sure how many animals they will bring, so every clinic is different. The clinic organizers have been personally supporting rescuers helping litters of puppies and kitties. Just this month, they’ve donated to two rescuers looking after litters of newborn kittens. And one of the volunteers is helping a dog with ten puppies, so they are helping her. There never seems to be an end.

The Cuale Clinic desperately needs donations to help continue with their much-needed efforts to reduce the Vallarta street animal situation. Each clinic costs a minimum of $38,000 pesos. Please consider a donation to pawsandclawspv.org and indicate your donation is for a sterilization clinic.
