Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico – Get ready to celebrate the bounty of our region! Hidalgo Park will transform into a hub of agricultural activity on February 22nd and 23rd, hosting Agrofest 2025. This exciting event aims to connect local farmers with consumers, restaurants, and hotels, fostering stronger community ties and boosting economic growth.
Councilor Laurel Carillo Ventura, president of the City Council Committee on Culture and Cultural Rights, expressed her enthusiasm for Agrofest 2025, emphasizing its role in bringing producers and the community together. Oscar Avalos Bernal, director of Agricultural Development, shared details about the impressive lineup of participating farmers.
Honey producers from Las Palmas district, whose seedless watermelon season has recently concluded, will be showcasing their golden harvests. Pineapple growers from San Juan de Abajo, Nayarit, and Tomatlán will also join the festivities. Currently, 35 producers have confirmed their attendance, promising a diverse array of fresh, locally grown products.
Ramón Martínez Jiménez, head of District 07 of the Ministry of Agriculture in Jalisco, based in Ciudad Guzmán, highlighted the wide variety of regional products that will be available. Attendees can look forward to delicious cheeses like panela, cotija, and adobera, along with honey, cajeta, palanquetas, a colorful assortment of vegetables, chili peppers, tomatoes, and flavorful sauces.
Alejandra Cornejo, Director of Economic Promotion and Tourism, pointed out the significant benefits of Agrofest 2025 for the local hotel and restaurant industry. The event offers a unique opportunity for these businesses to discover new, high-quality ingredients and forge valuable partnerships with local producers.
