June 24 UPDATE: The Palm Cabaret is pleased to announce that due to the popularity of “This is Gaga,” it will be held over through July 10th! This incredible tribute show will take the stage at The Palm Cabaret every Saturday night at 9:00 pm.
Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico – Attention Entertainment Lovers! The show that you’ve been waiting for has arrived and it will blow your socks off. “This is Gaga” starring Maru Prado Conti delivers a thrilling musical tribute to the legendary Lady Gaga and creatively expresses in video, song and dance her incredible body of work.
With four dancers, two backup singers, spectacular special effects along with Maru’s fabulous vocals, choreography and showmanship, “This is Gaga” is a winner from start to finish. Word has been getting around about just how fantastic this show is and it’s no exaggeration to say that it’s ONE OF THE BEST performances that Vallarta audiences have ever seen.
This is a show that deserves to be in Vegas or NYC, yet we are incredibly blessed to enjoy it here in our little piece of paradise. “This is Gaga” is a late-season hit, so you have a limited amount of time to catch the show. For Pride Week, there will be 3 performances on Monday, May 24th at 9 pm, Wednesday, May 26th at 7:00 pm and Saturday, May 29th at 9:00 pm. The show has been selling out on a regular basis, so consider getting your tickets ahead of time. The show might continue into June, but nothing has been confirmed as of yet.
So back to the show. You’ll hear all the favorites that have made Lady Gaga a living legend… Songs like The Edge of Glory, Alejandro, Shallow, A Million Reasons, The Perfect Illusion, Bad Romance, and more! With authentic Gaga videos playing in the background, Maru and her performers deliver their tribute version of each song in the most exhilarating and inspiring way imaginable.
The costumes, incredible choreography by Alejandro Moran, creative dance by “the starboys” – Carlos Duque, Santiago Trujillo Luiger Paez, Oswaldo Chacon, Raul Rodriguez and Pedro Izazaga – and the backup vocals by Christian Lopez and Tonny Kenneth, are all close to perfection. You’ll thrill to the interpretative dance and theatrics that performance artist Mateo Erdocia offers throughout the show.
From Rosario, Argentina, Maru Prado Conti has performed in musical theater, participating in The Beauty and the Beast in Buenos Aires, as well as other musical theater. Maru is also a vocal coach and has a company called “Tu Experiencia Broadway.”
Maru decided to create her ‘This is Gaga’ Tribute out of enormous respect for Lady Gaga as one of the most multi-talented entertainers of our time. Maru admires Gaga for her amazing singing, songwriting, acting and iconic support of the LGBTQ community. In her lyrics, Lady Gaga represents the feelings and thoughts of many people who suffer bullying and discrimination, encouraging them to feel free and love themselves.
Lady Gaga is known for her image reinventions and musical versatility. She began performing as a teenager, singing at open mic nights and acting in school plays. Gaga rose to prominence with her debut studio album, The Fame, and its chart-topping singles Just Dance and Poker Face. The album was later reissued to include “The Fame Monster” (2009), which yielded the successful singles Bad Romance, Telephone and Alejandro.
