San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, captured the top honor as the World’s Best City. Situated in central Mexico, this charming city boasts baroque architecture, a vibrant arts scene, and cultural festivals. Readers were impressed by its rich history, welcoming atmosphere, and natural beauty.

This beautiful city in the state of Guanajuato, about 4 hours from Mexico City, also dominated the Best Cities in Mexico category, with four other cities earning recognition:

Oaxaca: Praised for its cultural richness and friendly locals, Oaxaca secured second place.
Mexico City: Mexico’s capital ranked third, impressing voters with its historical sites, nightlife, and vast array of museums.
Mérida: The Yucatan capital, known for its LGBTQ+ inclusivity, cenotes, and Mayan heritage, secured the fourth position.
Guadalajara: Mexico’s second-largest city rounded out the top five, lauded for its exceptional cuisine, diverse shopping options, and thriving arts scene.

These recognitions reflect the continued allure of Mexico for travelers seeking cultural immersion, historical exploration, and scenic beauty.
