U.S. Government Invites Jalisco Governor on a Work Tour

Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico – Jalisco Governor Enrique Alfaro Ramírez will be on a working tour in the cities of Washington and Chicago this week, courtesy of the United States government, which not only invited him, but is also covering all of his expenses.

While in the U.S. capital the governor will consider topics related to the use of technology in security, civil protection and forensic sciences, as well as the development of institutional capacities.

At the end of the week, Enrique Alfaro will visit the city of Chicago to resume the work agenda with the Jalisco migrants, whom he has not visited since June 2019, before the Covid-19 pandemic. Within the activities, he plans to make important announcements in the cultural field.

“I want to inform you that I have been invited by the United States Government to a work tour. This coming week I will be first in Washington with an agenda related to applied technology in security, civil protection and forensic sciences. We took advantage of the trip to resume the work agenda with our Jalisco migrants at Casa Jalisco in Chicago. Due to the pandemic we had not seen each other, but we are ready to make important announcements, mainly in the cultural field. I’m going to talk to them. The expenses are borne by the US government and the cooperation issues that are on the table will undoubtedly strengthen the relationship between Jalisco and the US and, of course, with our countrymen. We are going to demonstrate once again that, from the local level, a lot can be done,” the Governor said via his social media channels.

With these activities, the Jalisco governor endorses his commitment and willingness to maintain close ties of dialogue and collaboration with Jalisco migrants, in order to promote their Mexicanness, their work and intellectual capacity, as well as their development opportunities.

Remember that before the coronavirus health emergency, Enrique Alfaro had already taken work tours in the cities of Los Angeles and San Francisco in March 2019, and to Melrose Park and Chicago, Illinois, in June 2019.
