Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – Autumn brings one of the most impressive butterfly seasons to the Banderas Bay region, with large numbers of butterflies and a remarkable variety of species. This year, the Vallarta Botanical Garden will celebrate the annual spectacle with Butterfly Weekend on October 3 and 4.
The two-day event will give visitors an opportunity to see these delicate insects up close while learning more about their role in the region’s tropical ecosystem.
Activities will include guided butterfly safaris, workshops, exhibits, educational displays, and family-friendly activities. The butterfly safaris are designed for observation and photography, with visitors asked to leave their nets at home and follow designated trails to help protect the garden and its wildlife.
The garden provides an ideal setting for butterfly watching. Thousands of flowering plants attract butterflies throughout the property, creating plenty of opportunities to spot different species as they move from flower to flower.

Admission to Butterfly Weekend is included with regular Garden admission, which is $300 pesos per person. Vallarta Botanical Garden members receive free admission.
