Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico – Last weekend, Chihuahua hosted the ALOHA Mental Arithmetic National Championship, welcoming over 700 students from across Mexico. Among them, six talented children from Puerto Vallarta showcased their exceptional skills, competing in a challenging event that required solving 70 calculations in just five minutes using either a Japanese abacus or mental techniques.
Puerto Vallarta’s team delivered an outstanding performance, earning impressive achievements:
- Luciana Sánchez Iñiguez set a remarkable record, completing 70 flawless calculations in just three minutes to win the prestigious Excellence Cup.
- María Paula Rodríguez Ramos secured 2nd place nationally, demonstrating remarkable speed and accuracy.
- Ivanna Trujillo Segura and Mario Tadeo López Castelán both earned 3rd place, further highlighting Vallarta’s strong presence in the competition.
Additionally, Fernanda Abigail Sánchez Ramos and Leonardo Hidalgo Gutiérrez achieved personal bests, showing dedication and growth despite not receiving awards.
