Vallarta Students Shine at RoboRave World Cup, Snag Second Place

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – Five talented Puerto Vallarta students from the Katatronik academy in Las Juntas made their mark on the international stage, clinching second place in the Entreprenurial category at the RoboRave World Cup held in Sippy Downs, Australia on July 13th and 14th.

RoboRAVE is a unique format in that participants can enter using any robotics platform, at any age, with any level of experience and from anywhere in the world. This prestigious competition, which drew over 300 teams from countries like China, Japan, and Mexico, challenged participants to design, build, and program robots to tackle various tasks.

The events saw competitors engineering robots that climbed vertical surfaces, battled in sumo arenas, negotiated mazes and used vision technology to follow lines and track objects.

The Vallarta team, comprised of Danna Gabriela Soto Ramírez, Valeria Ramirez Carmona, Jaime Becerra Rodríguez, Argelia Bravo López, and Aitana Bravo López, impressed judges and fellow competitors with their innovative creation. Their coach, Gabriel Soto Castañeda, undoubtedly played a pivotal role in guiding them to championship success.

RoboRave isn’t just about building robots; it’s about fostering collaboration and problem-solving skills in students of all ages and backgrounds. By overcoming complex challenges that test their design, coding, and teamwork abilities, participants gain valuable experience that equips them for future endeavors.

The Vallarta team’s exceptional performance at the RoboRave World Cup not only brought home recognition for their robotics prowess but also highlighted the potential and dedication of Puerto Vallarta’s young minds on the global stage.
