Puerto Vallarta is in ‘plane’ sight of travelers who fly United Airlines, which is making a strong return to the destination with flights from several cities in the United States. In a lengthy article published in the November edition of the airline’s Hemispheres Magazine, readers get a broad overview of the many activities they can do here, with pleasures for all the senses.
Hemispheres is a magazine that is not only distributed on board United Airlines planes, but now, thanks to the airline’s pandemic precautions, it also reaches more than 10 million travelers digitally, and is sent to 400,000 homes of its premium customers to ensure it reaches potential customers and frequent travelers.
In his article, entitled “Three Perfect Days in Puerto Vallarta,” journalist Nils Bernstein comments that the fact that this destination is surrounded by the dense jungle of the Sierra Madre, and is home to remote beaches reachable only by sea, gives it a particular charm.
THREE DAYS IN PARADISE
Reported as a three-day getaway, the author mentions that during his stay he enjoyed snorkeling at the Los Arcos National Marine Park, where he observed numerous species of fish and mollusks that he describes as “a veritable Cirque du Soleil of sea beasts competing for attention.”
Regarding Los Arcos, the author mentions that despite being a popular destination for snorkeling and diving and being close to the coastline, this protected natural reserve offers the most dense and colorful marine panorama in the region. He adds that, even given the constant development in Puerto Vallarta, “these kinds of unspoiled paradises seem to be everywhere.”
With the curiosity of the marine fauna, the journalist visits southern beaches such as Garza Blanca, Palmares, Punta Negra, and Conchas Chinas; Then he goes to a restaurant specializing in seafood where he savors a variety of aguachile and ceviche.
He also discovers the architecture of the historic center full of “seductive cobbled streets and amazing views,” and marvels at the parish of Guadalupe and its crown, before embarking on a walk through the ‘Gringo Gulch’ to Casa Kimberly, made famous by the fact that Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton lived there.
His visit included the Vallarta Botanical Garden, where he marveled at the flora and fauna, as well as a stop in Boca de Tomatlán and a brief walk through the jungle to Colomitos Beach, which he called “a postcard of the sort of Mexican beach that everyone looks for but that has been condoed and hoteled nearly out of existence.”
From there, he took a water taxi to Los Muertos Beach, where did some people-watching before making his way along the Malecón through Old Town to the Colonia 5 de Diciembre neighborhood for dinner at one of the most famous restaurants in the port.
