Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico – The Puerto Vallarta Club Iguanas basketball team officially kicked off its preparations for the upcoming season on Thursday, August 29, with a grand presentation at a popular local restaurant. The event introduced the team’s key figures, including club president José Miguel Romero and sports director Professor Alejandro “Jano” Ramírez, who is well-regarded for his extensive experience in the sport.
Coach Jeff Moore, along with sponsors and special guests, also joined the presentation, which featured the unveiling of the coaching staff, the roster of players, and the new uniforms that will be worn throughout the season. The Puerto Vallarta Iguanas are set to compete in the LBP season, which begins on September 6 and concludes on December 17. The team will play a total of 20 matches, half of which will be hosted at their home venue.
The Iguanas are set to make their season debut this weekend as visitors against Mineros de Cosalá in Sinaloa. Their first home games are scheduled for September 13 and 14 at the Auditorium of the Unidad Deportiva Agustín Flores Contreras, where they aim to impress their passionate fan base with dedication and skill.
This season has sparked significant anticipation among fans, who are eager to witness the team’s pursuit of success and memorable performances on the court.
“We are very excited about this new season. We have worked hard to put together a competitive team and we hope to have the support of the fans in every game,” said José Miguel Romero during the event.
Sports director Jano Ramírez, known for leading the Panteras de Aguascalientes to an LNBP championship and bringing 56 years of experience to the team, highlighted the value of community involvement. “We will work hard and with great enthusiasm for this sport and the Vallarta community,” he emphasized.
