Vallarta’s Isla de Los Muertos Festival Returns Nov 1

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – The 4th Annual Isla de Los Muertos Festival will light up the evening of Saturday, November 1, from 5 to 10 pm, with an unforgettable celebration of culture, creativity, and community. Open to the public and perfect for all ages, this family-friendly event blends entertainment with a heartfelt purpose.

This free community event will bring together locals, visitors, and participants from around the world – both in person and virtually – to honor those who have passed with light, music, and community. Hosted by the charismatic Gloria Fiona, the festival’s stage will come alive with live music by Angeloo, Bing, Stolie, Kevin Anthony II, Kim Arvher, Eva & Mau, Sargento Dan, Yoalli Ortiz, and Kimberly Grandi & Jason. Each performer will deliver a 30-minute set, beginning at 5:30 pm, ensuring a full evening of dynamic performances.

The Most Inclusive Día de los Muertos Ofrenda this year is sponsored by Hospital CMQ.

Unlike traditional ofrendas limited to local participation, this initiative welcomes photos from anywhere in the world. For a small donation, participants can upload a picture of a loved one – a family member, friend, or even a cherished pet – to be memorialized on a one-of-a-kind candle that will shine at the Isla Cuale ofrenda. Each candle represents a story, a soul, and a shared human connection that transcends borders. If you would like to participate, submit a photo for inclusion by October 30 at vallartagardenclub.com.

Attendees can also enjoy delicious food, refreshing drinks, and interactive experiences, including face painting and traditional lotería games. Proceeds from these activities will benefit two community-focused organizations: the Vallarta Garden Club and Vallarta Cares.

The Vallarta Garden Club is dedicated to significantly enhancing the beauty of Puerto Vallarta. Their work with public landscaping has helped transform the city into a more visually appealing and welcoming destination for all.

Meanwhile, Vallarta Cares tirelessly combats hunger and provides essential support to those in need. Their soup kitchen serves daily meals to hundreds of individuals, while their support programs empower families and individuals to overcome challenges and build better lives.

Both groups exemplify the spirit of compassion and cooperation that defines Puerto Vallarta.

As dusk settles, the gardens will be transformed with glowing lights, colorful ofrendas, and elegant Catrina statues, offering a breathtaking tribute to Mexico’s Día de Los Muertos traditions.

The Isla de Los Muertos Festival is more than a celebration – it’s a reflection of Puerto Vallarta’s generosity, artistry, and cultural pride. Join friends and family for an evening filled with music, laughter, and purpose, and help support the organizations that make this community thrive.
