Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – One of the largest national sporting events, the Pacific Games, will be held in Puerto Vallarta from November 13 to 15. The city expects to welcome more than 300 crossfit athletes from around the country who, in addition to competing in this extreme sport, will be able to relax and enjoy the many attractions that this beach destination offers.
The Pacific Games are a warm and friendly event designed to promote Puerto Vallarta as a sports destination; to foster sports, and to attract tourism to Puerto Vallarta by means of quality, accessible sporting events.
Bringing together athletes of both genders and all ages who enjoy mind and body challenges through the strenuous testing of skills such as swimming, running, weight lifting and gymnastics, this multi-discipline event will have 6 main categories: Youth, PPT, Intermediate, Elite, Masters, and RX.
It was in 2014 that the first edition of the event was held in Puerto Vallarta and, since then, it has not stopped growing; the organizers commented that this destination has always attracted crossfit fans, and this seventh edition will have new, varied, fun, and safe dynamics.
The main venues for this year’s athletic contests will be the Agustín Flores Contreras sports stadium and Camarones beach, which will be prepared to receive the competitions with respect to all the preventive measures set by the health authorities.
The program indicates that Friday the 13th will be the registration and the athletes meeting. On Saturday the 14th from 7:00 am there will be competitions, at 12:00 pm will be the official opening, and at 1:00 pm new rounds of competitions. On Sunday the 15th, the competitions will start at 8:00 am and the final will be at 4:00 pm.
“Sports tourism is one of the most hyperactive segments in Puerto Vallarta. Not only does this destination offers great conditions for outdoor activities, but hosting athletic events awakens confidence in travelers. For this reason, in the coming weeks PV will host 11 soccer tournaments, an athletic race on Doctor’s Day, the Puerto Vallarta-San Sebastián del Oeste Cycling Challenge and the Pacific Games, which will surely be a success,” said the Acting Director of the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Promotion and Publicity Trust, Luis Villaseñor.
