Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, México – Celebrating two decades of impact, the 20th Annual Hook the Cure event recently concluded its most successful campaign to date, raising a staggering $1.4 million for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
From November 6–9, 2025, the Villa Premiere Hotel in Puerto Vallarta served as the backdrop for this premier all-inclusive fundraiser, which seamlessly blends sport fishing, spa retreats, and golf into a singular mission: finding a cure for cystic fibrosis.

The weekend’s success was guided by co-chairs Bob Huston and Jeff Jennison, alongside CF ambassador Will Huston. Their leadership helped foster a community of generosity that was bolstered by the presence of notable figures, including baseball greats Rick Honeycutt and Matt Young. This spirit of camaraderie reached a high point when long-time supporters jump-started the “Bid for a Cure” segment with an immediate $300,000 donation, setting a hopeful tone for the evening’s festivities.
As the event transitioned into the live auction, auctioneer Shawn Parr captivated the audience with high-stakes bidding on luxury travel packages provided by American Airlines and a silent auction featuring more than 125 curated items. The atmosphere remained high-spirited throughout the weekend, particularly during an intimate acoustic performance by Nashville recording artist Lucas Hoge, whose music provided a meaningful soundtrack to the record-breaking fundraising efforts.
The $1.4 million raised this year is more than just a fiscal milestone; it represents a significant leap forward in the research and specialized care necessary to combat this life-threatening genetic disease. Over its twenty-year history in Puerto Vallarta, Hook the Cure has now generated more than $12 million in net proceeds, proving that consistent community dedication can lead to life-changing results.
Looking ahead, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is already preparing to evolve the tradition. Plans are currently underway to introduce a fresh perspective for the 2026 event, with organizers encouraging supporters to monitor their official website for upcoming announcements.
