Puerto Vallarta is eagerly anticipating the 33rd annual Children’s Fishing Tournament, a cherished tradition that fosters a love for sport fishing among the area’s youth. For over three decades, this special event, organized with dedication by the Puerto Vallarta Fishing Club AC (Club de Pesca de Puerto Vallarta, AC.), has introduced the joys and skills of angling to local children.
This year’s tournament will take place on Sunday, April 27th, from 8:00 am to 11:00 am at the scenic Marina Vallarta dock, conveniently located next to the Marina del Rey condominiums. The event offers a wonderful opportunity for families to connect with the marine environment and create lasting memories.

Young participants are invited to register in one of two age categories: Category A for children aged 2 to 6, and Category B for those between 7 and 12 years old. To ensure a safe and supportive experience, all young anglers must be accompanied by a responsible adult throughout the morning.
In a wonderful gesture of community spirit, registration for the Children’s Fishing Tournament is completely free. The competition will focus on the weight of the catches, adding an element of friendly rivalry. Importantly, to promote environmental responsibility and a deep respect for marine life, all fish will be carefully weighed and then gently returned to the water.
Adding to the excitement, fantastic prizes await the talented young anglers who secure first place in each category. This provides a delightful incentive and acknowledges their skill and enthusiasm.
Families eager to learn more about this fantastic event are encouraged to reach out to the Club de Pesca Puerto Vallarta through their Facebook page or by calling (322) 225-5467.
This annual tournament promises a morning of fun, learning, and appreciation for the beautiful coastal environment of Puerto Vallarta.
